Our free structured literacy professional learning is delivered via seven online learning modules. These streamlined sessions move beyond the theory supporting the approach by providing practical strategies that can be immediately implemented in the classroom. These strategies can be used regardless of the core phonics program that your school uses. The modules are ideal for experienced teachers who want a refresher, as well as new teachers who would like more in-depth training. To register, complete and submit the form.

Modules are cumulative and assume prior knowledge from earlier modules, so should be done in order.

Meet our presenter, Jude Tabuteau
Jude is an educator and literacy specialist, who after years in the classroom is now dedicated to empowering teachers with practical, evidence-based classroom strategies around structured literacy. With years of hands-on experience guiding schools through effective literacy instruction and implementation, Jude uses her knowledge and expertise to bring clarity and actionable insights to every online learning module.

- Auckland based primary school teacher – junior specialist

- Teaching experience spanning decades across a variety of educational settings and learning environments

This is my first year doing literacy support at school after teaching in the classroom for many years and your modules have been really helpful in affirming my own practice. I started the modules because I wanted some extra information and tips/suggestions about what I could do to refine my practice and I have definitely got that from the modules. I am doing another course but it’s through the Ministry and your modules are far more practical and offer ideas I can put into practice straight away!
I’ve written down your exact script in some parts and use those words because they are clear, to the point and my learners know what I mean when I say it. Also, the videos you have showing it in practice, really consolidates the new learning for me.
I particularly enjoyed Modules 4, 5 and 6. I found Module 4 was incredibly helpful in reviewing how to assess/score accurately and quickly and why we actually do the full Sunshine assessment suite. Module 5 was really helpful for tips/suggestions on how to develop fluency. I found I needed a fresh approach as I have a group of children who sound out each sound and then go back and blend it which really slows down the pace of their reading. But your info on continuous sounds and stop sounds and just how to blend those in a continuous way, is exactly what I need to get these kids sounding more fluent.

I did one of your workshops earlier on at my school when we hosted and I have found going back and doing the Modules, reviewing everything in greater depth and being able to do it at home in my own time (juggling my own kids) has been a real game changer! It makes it manageable and being able to pause the modules when you need to, means as a learner I don’t get overwhelmed.
