Sally Sutton

Sally Sutton is a best-selling, award-winning New Zealand author of picture books and junior fiction series. Her book Roadworks (with Brian Lovelock, Walker Books/Candlewick Press) won the picture book category at the NZ Children’s Book Awards in 2009 and has since sold over half a million copies worldwide. She also writes plays.

Sally wrote the eight titles in our Reading Adventures series, creating the humorous characters Big Mess Jess (and her owner, Pip) and Jet Pack Jack (and his pet rat, Rex).

Other titles over her twenty-year career include Demolition, Construction, Dig Dump Roll, The Cat from Muzzle, Farmer John’s Tractor and the chapter book series Miniwings and Lulu and the Dance Detectives.
